Aaron Rodgers’ highly anticipated debut as the Jets’ quarterback was cut short on Monday night when an ankle injury forced him out of the game against the Bills after just four snaps.

During his first drive for the Jets, Rodgers suffered an awkward twist of his left leg while being sacked by Bills pass rusher Leonard Floyd.

After writhing in pain on the ground for a minute, he was assisted to the sideline for evaluation and subsequently carted off to the locker room for X-rays.

Fortunately, the X-rays came back negative, according to the team’s announcement.

Rodgers was seen wearing a walking boot both before and after the X-ray examination, according to NFL Network Insider Mike Garafolo.

In Rodgers’ absence, former 2021 2nd overall pick, quarterback Zach Wilson took over the reins of the Jets’ offense and later threw an INT.

Peyton Manning, commenting on the injury during the broadcast, expressed his disbelief, saying, “Holy cow, I cannot believe this!”

The Jets had high hopes for the season after acquiring Rodgers, hopefully he isn’t injured long-term.
