Update: Aaron Rodgers has addressed and denied reports that he does not believe the Sandy Hook shooting happened.

Aaron Rodgers reportedly harbors and proliferates conspiratorial beliefs about the Sandy Hook shooting and has told people in conversations that it’s “not real,” according to a new report from CNN.

Following news that fringe independent candidate Robert F. Kennedy Jr. was reportedly considering Rodgers as his running mate, CNN published the report about Rodgers’ alleged Sandy Hook beliefs, saying that they spoke with two sources that had conversations with about the tragedy.

“Sandy Hook never happened… All those children never existed. They were all actors,” Rodgers allegedly said, according to a source. “They’re [the families of the victims] all making it up. They’re all actors.”

After CNN shared their report, Jamie Stuart, an Emmy-winning reporter for Newsday Sports, posted a video of Rodgers’ discussing the Sandy Hook shooting from “ten years ago” on Twitter.

“I hope that we can learn from this, and look for the signs more. And not ever have something like this happen and keep this on our minds. Because these are things that affect all of us directly or indirectly. This needs to be something that we learn from,” Rodgers said on 540 ESPN Milwaukee at the time.

This means one of three things: Rodgers was being disingenuous about his feelings at the time of the tragedy, CNN is lying in their report, or Rodgers’ brain has rotted so intensely in the last decade that he’s gone from mourning the Sandy Hook tragedy to not believing it happened at all.

Former NFL wide Antonio Brown has faced endless claims of CTE due to the change in his behavior in recent years — there’s no reason why Rodgers shouldn’t be given that same treatment.

At this time, Rodgers has yet to address reports that he’s being considered as a potential running mate for RFK Jr. He’s also yet to complete an official regular season pass for the New York Jets, who acquired in now 40-year-old quarterback in a trade back in April 2023.
