SMU hosted former coach Sonny Dykes and TCU on Saturday in a game that was aired on the CW. The Horned Frogs were seen trolling the Mustangs prior to kickoff, taking shots at their laughable media deal.

It didn’t age well!! SMU rolled TCU to the tune of a 66-42 blowout. The Horned Frogs immediately got a dose of their own medicine after the fact.

The ACC partnered with The CW in 2023, deciding to air both football and basketball contests on the network more known for cheesy sitcoms.

July 13, 2023 (Burbank, CA) – The CW Network announced it has secured exclusive broadcast rights to 50 Atlantic Coast Conference (ACC) college football and basketball games each season through 2026-27. The first ACC football game will air on The CW on Saturday, September 9 with a matchup between the Pitt Panthers and non-conference opponent Cincinnati Bearcats, with games airing every Saturday throughout the season in the afternoon and in primetime. In addition to 13 football games, The CW will broadcast 28 men’s basketball games and nine women’s basketball games. These games will be featured in December, January and February with men’s basketball doubleheaders taking place every Saturday afternoon and women’s basketball games on Sunday afternoons. Raycom Sports will produce all games for The CW.

That announcement led many to mock the ACC. It’s not exactly ESPN!

TCU was the latest team to make fun of the league after seeing that their matchup with the Mustangs would air on The CW.

That said, it’s the conference who got the last laugh on Saturday.

After seeing SMU annihilate TCU, the ACC trolled alongside The CW.

Shots fired!

The Horned Frogs might be glad that the spotlight wasn’t on their game after seeing the final result. They were not having a good time!

Sonny Dykes received a cold welcome in his return to SMU. Boos rained down as he was ejected from the game after receiving a second unsportsmanlike penalty.

It wouldn’t be The CW without some drama!

Joining in on the fun, the network posted a rebuttal to TCU’s pregame mockery on X.

With the win, SMU landed Dallas/Fort Worth bragging rights. The ACC and CW made sure the Horned Frogs heard about it following the loss.
