The end of an exciting Travelers Championship was briefly interrupted by protestors on the 18th green. As Scottie Scheffler and Tom Kim battled it out for a chance at the trophy, a group of Just Stop Oil disruptors stormed onto the course to bring attention to their cause.

The group was quickly corralled and thrown in handcuffs before being escorted out of the venue. The bizarre scene sparked mass confusion for everyone involved.

Akshay Bhatia, who was also nearby at the time of the incident, said he was “scared for his life.”

Others likely felt that same brief moment of uneasiness before realizing the activists’ intent.

Adam Hadwin was able to watch the scene play out from the clubhouse having finished his fourth and final round earlier in the day. He took note of one particular protestor, who got absolutely rocked by a law enforcement officer’s tackle.

It’s a situation that Hadwin is all too familiar with.

Adam Hadwin was hilariously de-cleated by security at the RBC Canadian Open in 2023.

That came as part of a celebration when he attempted to run onto the green to douse his friend and tournament victor, Nick Taylor, in champagne.

The scene didn’t play out quite as he’d hoped!

Now having seen another green-stormer suffer the same fate, he took a moment to both reflect and provide analysis.

“I’d like to point out that when I was tackled, I held onto the bottle,” he posted on X. “Unlike this guy.”

Ball security!! Or bottle security in Hadwin’s case.

After the fact, Tom Kim somehow re-gathered his composure to sink a birdie putt that forced a playoff with Scheffler, who’d eventually go onto win the tournament.

The protest provided an odd end to what had been a fantastic tournament. Adam Hadwin’s post-event commentary at least gave followers a laugh.
