ESPN NFL Insider Adam Schefter is usually pretty straight-laced. Typically, he’s too busy chasing down every piece of NFL news possible to have time for jokes.
But, the veteran journalist set Twitter ablaze on Monday night after Doug Gottlieb tried to question Adam Schefter’s reporting. Schefter obliterated Gottlieb in incredible fashion.
Gottlieb, a former ESPN personality known for both stealing his teammate’s credit cards when he was playing college basketball at Notre Dame. as well as running his mouth on social media, is now the head coach at Wisconsin-Green Bay, his first stint as a head coach.
On Monday night, Adam Schefter reported that Sacramento State, an FCS school, was in talks to hire former NFL quarterback Michael Vick as head coach. In the report, he mentioned that Sacramento State’s NIL collective has raised $50 million for a potential move to the FBS, hopefully in the PAC 12. Doug Gottlieb claimed that there was no way this was true, and that’s when hilarity ensued.

The SAC-12 leading the schools NIL efforts already announced it has reached its initial goal of raising $50 million in NIL funds to strengthen the school’s case for an invitation to the PAC-12 or Mountain West conference.

Adam Schefter absolutely punked Doug Gottlieb in this exchange. Talking trash is one thing. Talking trash when you’re ranked 325th out of 364 in KenPom is just an idiotic move.
