Beginning tomorrow, 2,000+ athletes from 46 countries will descend upon Netanya, Israel for the Federation of International Lacrosse (FIL) World Lacrosse Championship. Lacrosse’s flagship international championship competition will run from July 12-24.
Among those 46 countries competing in this year’s tournament is Team Jamaica who will be making their first foray into international competition. Earlier today, Adidas Lacrosse debuted the exclusive Team Jamaica kit for their first-ever international lax competition and it’s sick. Team Jamaica has partnered to make Adidas Lacrosse the official athletic footwear, apparel and equipment brand for Team Jamaica Lacrosse.
Given that this is Jamaica‘s first international lax competition you might suspect that they’re putting out a ragtag team of athletes from other sports but Team Jamaica Lacrosse is actually pretty darn stacked. The Team Jamaica Lacrosse roster includes co-captain and Major League Lacrosse Chesapeake Bayhawks defender Goran Murray, co-captain Attacker Evan Redwood from Amherst College, Midfielder Hakeem Lecky from Syracuse University, and other current and former professional and NCAA lacrosse players.
