Alabama has been one of the top dogs in college football ever since Nick Saban stepped foot on campus. Over his 16 seasons in Tuscaloosa, the Crimson Tide have posted 15 10-win seasons.

That includes six national championships and a number of SEC titles. Those accolades might be hard to garner in 2024, however.

On Wednesday night, the SEC revealed its upcoming schedules as Oklahoma and Texas get set to enter the league. A few interesting notes have been taken away from the immediate release.

The Sooners got a brutal welcome to the conference as they have arguably the most difficult lineup of all. Georgia will also see a tough ’24 schedule after a laughably easy ’23 slate.

On both of those upcoming schedules? Alabama.

The Tide were dealt a tough hand, drawing SEC opponents Georgia and LSU, who competed for the SEC Championship last season. They also see rivalries with Tennessee and Auburn preserved while facing Oklahoma, South Carolina, Missouri, and Vanderbilt.

Now, they’ll likely be favored in all but one of those matchups (UGA), but it’s worth noting that the Tide fell to both Tennessee and LSU last season. And both of those games will be played on the road.

Alabama will also see Wisconsin in its non-conference schedule, another road game.

Many around the college football world are weighing in on that brutal slate.

Most are noting those road trips.

There will be more than a few slugfests.

The schedule is difficult but not many will feel sorry for Alabama. We’ll see how Nick Saban’s bunch performs in that 2024 season soon enough.
