In a post shared on his Instagram page, Reacher star Alan Ritchson called out the National Fraternal Order of Police.

Ritchson’s war of words with the National Fraternal Order of Police comes after an interview he gave with The Hollywood Reporter earlier this month in which he was asked about an old photo of him wearing a t-shirt that said “Arrest the cops who killed Breonna Taylor”.

“Cops get away with murder all the time, and the fact that we can’t really hold them accountable for their improprieties is disturbing to me,” Ritchson told THR.

In response, the National Fraternal Order of Police took to its official Facebook page to write a lengthy rant about Ritchson, saying he’s another “useless Hollywood actor” who should “go back to his pampered life.”

Ritchson didn’t back down, however, as he took to Instagram on Tuesday, April 16 to respond.

“This kind of emotionally immature response is the epitome of what concerns me about law enforcement today,” Ritchson captioned a photo of the GLFOP’s Facebook post about him. “If this is how leadership handles a peaceful disagreement, what does life look like for those unseen interactions in the street? How does this shape the character of those police officers looking to management? ⁣ ⁣ Do you really want individuals so easily angered, who bully like school children to have a gun and the protection of an untouchable union? ⁣ ⁣I don’t.⁣”

Ritchson then elaborated further and tagged the official @GLFOP account, by saying that the environment of no accountability and blind allegiance that they help create is a “fertile ground for fascism.”

Ritchson has a new movie hitting theaters this week as he’s starring in Guy Ritchie’s The Ministry of Ungentlemanly Warfare alongside Henry Cavill, Eiza Gonzalez, and Henry Golding. He’s also working on the third season of Prime Video’s hit series Reacher.

Earlier this year, before the release of his drama Ordinary Angels, BroBible’s Post Credit Podcast sat down for an interview with Ritchson, where we discussed his desire to be taken seriously as an actor, why Reacher is such a hit, how he picks his roles, being fantastic as Batman, and more.
