The Buffalo Bills needed to find a new top target for franchise quarterback Josh Allen after the team traded away Stefon Diggs this offseason to the Houston Texans.

They’re hoping they found that guy in 33rd-overall pick Keon Coleman out of Florida State. Coleman was considered one of the top wide receiver prospects in a great group of wideouts.

Coleman spent one year at Florida State after two years at Michigan State. He helped the Seminoles to a perfect regular season and ACC Championship with 658 yards and 11 touchdowns.

At 6-4 and 220lb, the former Michigan State basketball player is fantastic at making contested catches and using his body to box out defensive backs. With Josh Allen’s arm strength to get the ball downfield, he should be a huge asset.

Josh Allen certainly thinks so. Even before the Buffalo Bills selected Keon Coleman on Friday, Josh Allen had told Coleman that Allen wanted to play with him. Here’s more from the official website of the Buffalo Bills.

“He texted me the day of and was like, ‘You’re the guy I want. I watched a lot of receivers and I want to play with you,'” Coleman said. “And I’ve been saying the same thing. I want to play with the guy that wears number 17. I think he’s a great quarterback, one of the best in the league right now and I would love to be catching passes from him. I’m ready for that.”

It sounds like the relationship between franchise quarterback and number-one wide receiver is off to a very good start.
