Florida police officer Luis Hernandez is officially a UFC fighter.

Hernandez currently works for the Miami-Dade Sheriff’s Office and trains in MMA in his spare time.

On Tuesday, Hernandez earned himself a UFC contract after a comeback win on Dana White’s Contender Series.

Last year, Hernandez went viral when he got into a brawl with UFC champion Sean Strickland after disrespectfully mocking Strickland’s fighter in the cage.

Hernandez got a kick out of getting into a brawl with Strickland at the time.

“He said some things, and I said some things back, and he didn’t like what I said,” Luis recalled. “He was saying I was tired, making fun of me, I think he called me fat.”

“[He connected] but I’m still standing, still smiling,” Luis said. “I got a three second knockout [before]… Hopefully I’ll be in the UFC soon.”
