Tampa Bay infielder Amed Rosario turned on a Paul Skenes fastball on Monday, sending it flying over the left field wall of Charlotte Sports Park. Showing incredibly quick hands, Rosario got out in front of the first overall pick’s pitch – which is a tough thing to do given his arm strength!

Skenes has been pumping out triple digit deliveries since his days at LSU, and he’s already made waves this Spring Training session.

He was hoping for more headlines in his latest appearance, entering a matchup vs. the Rays in the fourth inning of action.

The pitcher again turned heads with his incredible velocity, looking impressive while striking out three batters over two innings of work.

The sound of the mitt popping as Paul Skenes dialed up 100-MPH heaters gave fans the perfect preview to the coming baseball season. There’s nothing better!

Well, almost nothing…

While he posted a strong performance by day’s end, Skenes was met with a less-than-warm welcome upon taking the mound.

The first batter the righty faced was Amed Rosario, who turned on an 0-1 pitch and deposited it swiftly into the outfield seats.

The crack of the bat was music to attendees’ ears, particularly those on the Tampa Bay side!

Rosario is entering his first season with the Rays after stints with the Mets, Dodgers, and Guardians. He’s already piquing the interest of fans by taking the No. 1 pick yard.

The MLB season can’t get here fast enough!
