It Appears That Taylor Swift And Andy Reid Are Homies

The AFC Championship game was bad news for any NFL fans who are tired of the Taylor Swift media circus as the Kansas City Chiefs beat the Baltimore Ravens to advance to their fourth Super Bowl in five years.

As a result of the Chiefs’ win over Lamar Jackson and the Ravens, there will be, at least, another two weeks of Taylor Swift/Travis Kelce coverage, and perhaps even more than that if the Chiefs win their second straight Super Bowl title.

One person who seems just fine with Swiftie Mania, however, is Chiefs head coach Andy Reid, who made sure to share a moment with Swift when on stage accepting the Lamar Hunt Trophy.

Reid’s Chiefs, playing in their second straight Super Bowl and their fourth in five years, will be taking on Kyle Shanahan’s San Francisco 49ers, whom they beat to win their first title back in 2019/20.

The 49ers have opened as slim 1-point favorites over Mahomes, Kelce, and the Chiefs, who have actually been underdogs in their last two games on the road against the Buffalo Bills and Baltimore Ravens.

If the Chiefs do win this year’s Super Bowl, it will, be the third Lombardi Trophy of Patrick Mahomes’ career, which would be more than the likes of Peyton Manning, John Elway, and Roger Staubach.

As for the Niners, a Super Bowl win would validate what’s been a stretch of general excellence since Shanahan became the head coach in 2017. After a couple of rough seasons at the start of his tenure, Shanhan’s Niners have since won three NFC West titles, and have played in three NFC Championship games and one Super Bowl.

The Super Bowl could also be Travis Kelce’s final game, as some reports have suggested the 34-year-old future Hall of Fame tight end will retire at the end of the season.
