Angel Reese is not happy with the Chicago Sky. One anonymous WNBA executive expects the team to trade their star player during the upcoming offseason to avoid any additional headaches.

If not, he or she thinks the two-time All-Star should force her way out.

I have my doubts about this hypothesis. I also question the motive of this WNBA executive.

Angel Reese threatened to leave the Chicago Sky.

The former No. 7 overall pick publicly insulted her teammates just last week by telling them they are not good enough. Reese later refused to take accountability for her words after she was called out by the aforementioned teammates during a tense players-only meeting.

The Chicago Sky also suspended her for one half because of “conduct detrimental to the team.”

It has been an absolute rollercoaster over the last seven days— really from the day she arrived to the Windy City. One of the most vocal players in the WNBA always seems to be involved with controversy.

She brings every single one of the controversies upon herself.

Meanwhile, even though her numbers look impressive on paper, Reese continues to struggle on offense and often plays selfish basketball. The term ‘Mebounds’ exists for a reason.

All things considered, Angel Reese’s on-court performance might not be worth the off-court drama.

WNBA executives expect a trade.

With everything that is going on in Chicago over the last week, there is a growing belief that the Chicago Sky will trade Angel Reese. It could get even messier than it already is.

According to the DallasHoopsJournal, one WNBA executive would be shocked if Reese is not traded. And if she is not traded, the executive thinks she should force the issue.

“She needs to get the hell out of there,” the WNBA exec said. “Chicago is probably the worst-run organization in the league. You’re gonna suspend your best player just because she’s putting pressure on you to get better? That was embarrassing to see. I think Chicago will try to trade her this offseason, but if they don’t, she should request a trade.”

Given the source, I would guess that this anonymous executive is based out of Dallas. But I don’t know. Nor do I know if he or she is a general manager or a low-ranking administrator.

Either way, this specific quote seems intentionally inflammatory.

It sounds to me like this executive would love to pair Angel Reese with Paige Bueckers on the Dallas Wings. And it feels like he or she is trying to throw fodder on the fire. Speak it into existence, if you will.

Only time will tell. Is Reese going to be traded?
