For the first time since 1986, Argentina are World Cup champions and the nation is certainly throwing what seems to be a generational party in its honor.
Yesterday, we brought you the story of the drone that flew through Buenos Aires during the immediate aftermath of their World Cup Final victory over France.
Not prepared to let the party die down before the heroic men’s national team returned home, though, Argentina fans also greeted Leo Messi and co. as soon as they got off the plane from Qatar and the resulting scenes — which took place at around 4:30 a.m. local time — need to be seen to be believed.
Absolute scenes in Buenos Aires. 😎

Argentina lifted their third World Cup title following an epic victory over France in what many are calling the greatest World Cup Final in history. The match ended 2-2 after 90 minutes and 3-3 after 120 minutes and was ultimately decided by penalty kicks.
While the World Cup Final was Leo Messi’s final World Cup match, the 35-year-old has confirmed that he will not be retiring from international football as he wants to be able to wear the Argentina colors as a world champion.
The World Cup victory was not only a triumph for the nation of Argentina but for Messi, as well, as many football experts now consider the “greatest of all time” debate to be done and dusted following his latest world-conquering accomplishment.
As for his club career, reports indicate that Messi will be heading to Major League Soccer to play for David Beckham’s Inter Miami following the conclusion of Paris Saint-Germain’s 2022-2023 season. PSG — where Kylian Mbappe and Neymar both play, by the way — is currently scheduled to resume their regular season on Wednesday, December 28 against Strasbourg.
