Aussie Football Player Tells His Mom He’s Making His Pro Debut And She Reacts With Every Profane Word In Existence

This is that feel-good wholesome Australian content I’ve been craving lately. And moms are the best. This is an indisputable fact of life. Moms. Are. The. Best.

In this amazing and hilariously profane clip, Australian Football Rules player Trey Rusco filmed himself FaceTiming with his mom to surprise her with the news that he will be making his professional debut for the Collingwood Football Club in an upcoming game against the Swans.

His mother kicks it off by nagging him about not calling enough but her reaction to the news that her son is going pro is what makes this one of my favorite videos of this Summer. This is a moment that was a lifetime in the making with countless hours of that mom trucking him to and from practice. But she plays it off with a profane Australian demeanor that makes this clip an instant classic.

This clip really has me missing my mom right now. It really didn’t matter what measure of accomplishment it was in life but my mom was always proudest of me and my biggest fan. Moms really are the best. If you can, you should pick up the phone and call your mom today. She’d love to hear from you and you won’t regret picking up the phone for a quick chat. You’ll be glad you did.

Collingwood won in his debut, by the way. They beat the Sydney Swans with a score of 6.14 (50) to 6.5 (41) which if I’m being totally honest sounds like a made-up score. How are we working with obscure fractions here?

Now go call your mother. Do it.
