Baker Mayfield appears to be done with the Cleveland Browns.

On Thursday, Mayfield requested a trade out of the Cleveland after the Browns attempted to persuade Deshaun Watson to join the team via trade.

After Baker’s trade request, Browns owner Jimmy Haslam offered to fly out to Texas to meet with him, but Mayfield declined because he was still angry the team pursued Watson to replace him during the offseason.

NFL Network’s Tom Pelissero also reported Thursday that Jimmy Haslam offered to fly to Mayfield’s hometown of Austin, Tex. to try to mend the fences, but that Mayfield declined the offer. He said Mayfield’s camp believes the dalliance with Watson, the three-time Pro Bowl quarterback, undermined Mayfield’s leadership ability and made his return untenable. The visit with Watson came with Mayfield at home in Austin, Tex. rehabbing from surgery to repair a torn labrum in his left non-throwing shoulder.

As of now, the Browns say they will not honor Mayfield’s trade request and plan to have him play QB for them next season.
