The Cleveland Browns quarterback situation has been quite the rollercoaster over the last few days. They Browns quickly went from committed to Baker Mayfield to wanting an “adult”. Then they seemingly decided they didn’t need an adult anymore and once again committed to Mayfield.
Then Mayfield decided he wanted to leave the Browns, but the Browns wouldn’t trade him. Then today, the Browns shocked the football world when they traded a bunch of picks for Deshaun Watson and gave Watson a huge contract extension.
That leaves the Browns with a disgruntled quarterback they need to find a trade partner for. Now, Baker Mayfield has told the Browns who he wants to be traded to. According to The Athletic’s Jeff Howe, Baker wants to join the Indianapolis Colts.
Baker Mayfield has informed the Browns that he'd prefer to be traded to the Colts, per sources. Earlier this week, prior to Mayfield's trade request, the Browns said they'd work with him on a trade. We'll see if they'll accommodate such a move to the AFC, though. @TheAthletic

Mayfield to the Colts would make a lot of sense for both him and Indy. The Colts badly need a quarterback after trading Carson Wentz and they’d have to view a healthy Mayfield as an upgrade over Wentz. For Mayfield, it’s a chance to remain an NFL starter and do it with a team that he could lead to the playoffs this season.
He’d also probably view this as an upgrade on his supporting cast at the end of his time with the Browns. At the end of last season, he had Jarvis Landry and not much else in the passing game.
Even after all of the quarterback moves we’ve seen in the AFC this offseason, it seems like we aren’t quite done yet.
