What was an otherwise fantastic rookie season for Baltimore Ravens wide receiver Zay Flowers has taken a quick turn for the worse in recent weeks.

It began with a pair of mental mistakes in the AFC Championship Game that played a big role in Baltimore’s 17-10 loss to the Kansas City Chiefs.

Then things continued to get even worse off the field, where Flowers is now under investigation by Baltimore County police for an alleged domestic assault.

Multiple Police Departments Investigating Ravens Rookie Zay Flowers For Assault

The Baltimore Banners reports the alleged incident occurred last month and that police in Acton, Massachusetts are involved in the investigation. Flowers attended college at Boston College.

Acton police did not release the report due to confidentiality laws regarding alleged victims of domestic assault. Baltimore County police claim the alleged incident took place in the Owings Mills, Maryland area on Jan. 21, one week prior to the AFC Championship Game..

Flowers has not been charged with a crime. And a Baltimore Ravens spokesman refused to comment when asked by the Baltimore Banner.

The Ravens selected Flowers with the 22nd overall pick in the 2023 NFL Draft.

He set rookie franchise records for catches (77) and receiving yards (858) and added six total touchdowns in 16 games. He also led Baltimore with nine catches for 156 yards and a touchdown against the Chiefs. But the goal-line fumble late in the contest marred an otherwise impressive performance.

Yeah, I thought I did, honestly,” Flowers said when asked if he believed he crossed the goal line on the play. “but I’ll learn from my mistakes.”
