Kade Johnson is the most popular high school baseball pitcher in America this week after an unfortunate vomit incident went extremely viral. He threw up an absurd amount of fluid all over the field right in the middle of his delivery.
Slow-motion video of the mid-pitch puke is equally as mesmerizing as it is disgusting.
Johnson, a rising senior from Montgomery, Texas, is not the first athlete to barf in the middle of a baseball game. Pitchers have emptied their guts while on the mound on all levels of the sport, from Little League to Major League. It’s not a new thing. Cincinnati Reds ace Hunter Greene vomited right after throwing a fastball earlier this season.
However, the timing is what separates Johnson apart.
He toed the rubber for one of Hunter Pence’s teams at the 2024 17U WWBA South World Series in the Lone Star State earlier this week. The Class of 2025 recruit typically throws a three-pitch mix with a fastball, slider and changeup.
Kade Johnson also added a spitball to his repertoire at the Perfect Game tournament. It just wasn’t on purpose. And “spit” is wildly understated.
An outrageous amount of fluids spewed from his mouth right as his arm reached back behind him on his windup and continued to rip all of the way through his follow-through. Fair warning — the video of Johnson’s mid-pitch puke is disgusting, but you won’t be able to watch it less than three times if you choose to do so.
Since @StoolBaseball @barstoolsports want to put out a horrible screen shot version of the video…

Johnson, who people are calling ‘Barfolo Colon’ later clarified that he was indeed sick. It was his flu game and he tried to power through the start by crushing a lot of water and sports drinks that immediately came back up on the mound. The scorching Texas heat probably didn’t help him to keep it down!
