Russia High School in Ohio recently ran the coolest BLOB play in the history of basketball. The undefeated Raiders sealed their blowout victory with a double alley-oop dunk that sent the opponent’s gym into a frenzy.
It is very possible that college and even NBA teams could soon replicate the incredible play design!
Russia, Ohio, a small town with a total population of about 900, is located near the western border of the state— approximately 40 miles northwest of Dayton and 115 miles east of Indianapolis. Its high school (which also services grades seven and eight) enrolls around 200 students in total.
The Raiders are having a tremendous high school basketball season on the Division IV level. They stayed undefeated at 20-0 with a win at Botkins over the weekend. Two games remain in the regular season.

Not only is Russia winning all of its games — literally — it is doing so in style. The Raiders ran the coolest “baseline out of bounds” play, perhaps of all-time, in their win over the Trojans.
One player ran to the baseline as a decoy. Meanwhile, his much taller teammate quietly slipped out to the free throw line and jumped up to catch the inbounds pass. At no point did his feet touch the ground before he throw a second lob toward the rim. A third player, who went completely unaccounted for on the backside, flew past the defense to slam it home.

I have watched countless basketball games in my life and I don’t remember seeing a double lob BLOB play on any level. This is a first for me.
This kind of play might not work in college or the NBA because of the caliber of athlete, but what is to stop a team from trying? The double alley-oop off of the baseline is the way forward!
