San Diego State and Florida Atlantic provided viewers with one of the most exciting games of the NCAA Tournament. The buzzer beating finish saw the Aztecs book their ticket to the first national championship game in program history.

While it was certainly a thrilling outcome for those on the SDSU side, it painful for those on the losing end. One basketball bettor missed out on a chance at $100K in the last second defeat.

The contest was back and forth throughout the final minutes, but at one point in time, it seemed to be FAU’s to lose. The Owls found themselves up 14 points at just under the 14-minute mark in the second half of action. Unfortunately for Florida Atlantic, they were outscored 30-15 from that point on.

That second half collapse was made worse when San Diego State’s Lamont Butler sank a game-winning jumper as the final seconds ticked from the clock.

Reaction erupted upon seeing that final shot. SDSU supporters were ecstatic. FAU fans were crushed.

One basketball bettor wallowed in that disappointment as he missed out on a chance to win $100K with the loss.

We previously reported on this betting slip which had Florida Atlantic winning the national title. The $200 wager boasted +50000 odds, meaning the potential payout hit six figures.

That dream came to a crushing end on Saturday night, and his reaction to the loss was posted online.

Devastation.

Making things worse, this bettor also had a Miami national championship slip. The Hurricanes fell in the nightcap to UCONN, 72-59. Tough night for the basketball bettor.
