The apparent split between Jennifer Lopez and Ben Affleck continues to unfold in the public eye, as new reports indicate that Affleck is serious about a potential divorce.
According to an alleged source who spoke to the New York Post’s Page Six, Affleck has “come to his senses” and has realized that the high-profile marriage between him and J. Lo cannot work.
The source adds that Ben Affleck feels the two years since the pair got married in July 2022 have been a “fever dream” and that if there “was a way to divorce on grounds of temporary insanity, he would.”
“If there was a way to divorce on grounds of temporary insanity, he would. He feels like the last two years was just a fever dream, and he’s come to his senses now and understands there is just no way this is going to work,” the source said.
The seemingly pending divorce between Lopez and Affleck comes at a time that reports indicate the pair are no longer living together, with Lopez staying in the pair’s $60 million Beverly Hills mansion while Affleck rents a house in Brentwood.
Over the weekend, the pair were photographed together for the first time in weeks, seemingly trying to quell the speculation about their relationship.
Lopez and Affleck first dated from 2002 to 2004, with the tabloids famously coining the couple “Bennifer.” After they split, Lopez got married to singer Marc Anthony, and Affleck got hitched to actress Jennifer Garner.
Following Affleck’s split from Ana de Armas and Lopez’s breakup with Alex Rodriguez, the pair rekindled their relationship in April 2021 before getting married a little more than a year later.
Even if the pair’s romantic relationship comes to an end, their professional relationship will remain at least through the end of the year as Affleck’s production company Artists Equity produced her upcoming film Unstoppable, which is currently in post-production.
