It’s a big night in the NBA tonight. While it may seem like just a random Thursday night in March, there is actually one very important matchup happening tonight. The Brooklyn Nets are taking on the Philadelphia 76ers for the first time since they swapped Ben Simmons and James Harden at the trade deadline.
It also happens to also be the first time Ben Simmons will appear at the Wells Fargo Center since last season’s NBA playoffs. Of course, the fans weren’t happy to see him even it was just in street clothes and they booed him heavily during warmups.

The relationship between the Philadelphia 76ers and Ben Simmons came to an ugly end this season after they had some issues over the summer. The 6ers started searching for trade partners after their disappointing exit from the playoffs and Simmons was not happy about it. He then held out and caused a distraction when he finally did show up to practice.
He was kicked out of a practice just before the season started and that was the end of either side trying to make this work. Simmons went back to not showing up and the 6ers went back to looking for a trade partner.
Eventually they found the Brooklyn Nets who had a disgruntled star of their own and Simmons was dealt to Brooklyn along with a few other pieces in exchange for James Harden.
With these two teams playing in the same division, we should see plenty of drama between Simmons and Philly for years to come.
