Just as the 2023 NFL season kicks off, the Cincinnati Bengals have made Joe Burrow the highest-paid player in NFL history, according to ESPN’s Adam Schefter.

The young quarterback has inked a monumental five-year, $275 million contract, breaking all previous records for player compensation.

The contract includes $219.01 million in guaranteed money, solidifying Burrow’s financial future long-term.

Joe Burrow was selected as the first overall pick in the 2020 NFL draft, and still had two years remaining on his rookie contract, but both sides wanted to secure their future long-term.

Burrow’s was able to led the Bengals to the AFC Championship Game last season and a Super Bowl in 2021, though they were unable to capture the coveted Lombardi Trophy, losing to the Rams.

In 3 seasons in the NFL Burrow has passed for 82 touchdowns, 31 interceptions and 11,774 yards.

The franchise remained resolute in their belief that Burrow is the quarterback who can ultimately bring a Super Bowl victory to Cincinnati, which would be their first in history.
