Before Team USA women’s gymnastics won gold in Paris the Internet was being filled with some of the best Olympics memes the world has ever seen. This new trend that has emerged is simple in nature, people falling/failing, and they are being posted by gymnasts and divers with captions saying ‘sadly, I did not make the team’ before they wipe out.
For those who have been fortunate enough to be sucked into the ‘sadly, I did not make the team’ feed on TikTok or Instagram, they already know how incredible these videos are. They are, in fact, the best Olympics memes so far because other than the chocolate muffins there haven’t been any proper Olympic memes to emerge out of Paris yet. I am also amazed that so many people have clips of them getting completely destroyed.

Diving is an incredibly challenging discipline. I’ve seen my fair share of belly and back flops while foolishly attempting maneuvers on the diving board. Sadly, I don’t have any footage to contribute to this collection of the best Olympics memes:
