More Snow Expected In Buffalo As Bills Plea For Help From Fans

Last week’s heavy snowfall in the Buffalo area created all sorts of havoc around the Bills-Steelers AFC Wild Card Round game. And, it seems like weather is an issue again, as Orchard Park, where the Bills play, is getting dumped on with snow once again.

Thankfully, the timing of the snow, starting Friday into early Saturday, should allow Sunday’s huge AFC Divisional Round playoff game between the Buffalo Bills and the Kansas City Chiefs to be played at its scheduled time.

Last week’s game had to be moved from Sunday to Monday as it became untenable to be able to clear all roads in time for the game, and it would’ve been very unsafe for resources to be used on people traveling to Highmark Stadium.

Plus, there was the fact that the stadium itself was under two or three feet of snow. They had to ask local residents who could travel safely to Highmark Stadium to show up and shovel snow for $20 an hour.
They’re asking fans to do the same thing this week

In order to provide a safe venue for Sunday’s Bills Divisional Playoff Game vs. the Chiefs, the Buffalo Bills and Jani-King are asking anyone age 18 and over (or under 18 with proper working papers) interested in shoveling snow inside the stadium to come to Highmark Stadium beginning tomorrow (Friday) at 2:00 p.m.

Shovelers can arrive and register beginning at 2 p.m. and shovel snow throughout the day and evening.
The rate of pay is $20 per hour.
A comfortable warm break area will be provided.
Those interested in shoveling must have proper photo identification (driver’s license, state ID) to work.
Prospective snow shovelers are asked to dress appropriately for the weather (gloves, scarves, hats, coats, etc.) and to bring their own shovels for shoveling between seating areas, if possible, (shovels will be provided if you do not have one).

The most annoying part about this to me is that the Buffalo Bills won’t even provide shovels. It’s a franchise worth billions of dollars, and they can’t even provide quality shovels to shovel out the stadium? That seems ridiculous.

The current forecast for Sunday in Orchard Park calls for temperatures in the mid 20’s with mild wind.
