Blake Corum and Michigan made a statement with their win over Penn State on Saturday. The Wolverines beat the Nittany Lions 24-15 without suspended head coach Jim Harbaugh.
They didn’t need him. They had Corum!
He, Donovan Edwards and J.J. McCarthy got the job done. Michigan did not throw a single pass beyond the 7:41-mark of the second quarter. Not even one! It finished the game with 30-straight run plays.
Corum was the star. He ran for 145 yards and two touchdown on 26 carries and left it all out on the field, including his own blood.
His face was busted up, with a nasty cut on the bridge of his nose and a scrape above his right eyelid.
Here’s a closer look from the postgame press conference:
It is unclear as to exactly what caused Corum to look like an absolute maniac, but his face was fine during pregame warmups. The 5-foot-8, 213-pound running back grit his teeth and hammered the rock, which left him bloody along the way.
He didn’t even address the nasty cut(s) after the game. Nothing mattered in that moment but the win.
In addition to his strong stat line, Corum also got one back on Penn State. Defensive coordinator Manny Diaz trolled Michigan over its sign-stealing scandal during the week.
Corum threw it right back in his face after scoring his second touchdown of the game.
Saturday was a massive day for the Wolverines. As displayed on their star running back’s face, there was nothing that was going to stop them from getting their biggest win of the year so far. Not even a face gushing with blood!
Blake Corum made himself look like a DAWG and made Manny Diaz look foolish. The latter could not stop a nosebleed while the former’s nose was bleeding!
