Blake Griffin Reportedly Suffered A Broken Hand In ‘Undisclosed Team-Related Incident’ [UPDATE!]

Blake Griffin will NOT be making his return to the floor tonight after missing 15 games and has instead flown back to Los Angeles after what’s being reported as a “suspected broken hand in undisclosed team-related incident.”

Any time you hear such a term, one eyebrow usually raises just like The Rock’s, and rampant speculation begins.

Since it’s the classic “undisclosed team-related incident” it almost assuredly had to be some kind of altercation. Otherwise, why hide it?

So… who did Blake (allegedly) clock?

Was it Josh Smith, who was traded to the Rockets just three short days ago? Rivers explained that Smith was dealt because “it just didn’t [work out] for us.”

Ah, I see. Very ominous. Rivers went on to offer all the cliches a coach would give reporters whenever a trade comes about, but the timing is very, very INTERESTING.

The most intriguing (read: hilarious) scenario would be learning that Blake ended up breaking his hand on the face of Austin Rivers, Doc’s son.

But take one look at this roster and it’s incredibly easy make all kinds of assumptions. Lots of competitive, pent up rage here.

Then again, Blake could’ve simply broken his hand while washing his truck, or Kia, just like Jeff Kent did years ago.

Griffin is expected to be out for awhile. No timetable has been set for his return.

***UPDATE***

Per SportsCenter, Blake Griffin injured his hand after hitting a member of the Clippers equipment staff. This is almost as dumb as former Yankee Kevin Brown punching a wall. Actually, it’s DUMBER. Because a wall cannot sue you.

Oh boy. It gets worse.

Damn. Get ready to open up that checkbook, Blake.
