At 7-feet-4-inches, Los Angeles Clippers center Boban Marjanović is currently the tallest man in the NBA. Being one of the tallest people in the world means you turn heads wherever you go, even if you’re at a professional sporting event. Especially if that event happens to be pro surfing’s WSL Founders Cup at Kelly Slater’s Surf Ranch where the average pro surfer is probably under 6-feet tall.

The Players’ Tribune sent Boban Marjanović to Kelly Slater’s Surf Ranch in Lemoore, California. His job was to interview Kelly Slater and learn some surf lingo, mingle with the crowd and take in the sights. It’s clear that Boban had one of his best days of 2018 because this dude can’t stop smiling:

If you don’t follow the world of surfing, Kelly’s Surf Ranch is the single greatest engineering achievement the sport has ever seen. He’s managed to build a perfect artificial wave that rides better than 99.99% of the surf breaks in the world. It means perfect conditions all day every day, and it could be the solution to normalizing a wave for events like The Olympics. This is a perfectly barreled wave, one that pro surfers chase the entire world in search of.
