The Boston Red Sox are 13-21 and last in the AL East And not only are their fans feeling the pain of the product on the field, but one fan in particular is feeling it off the field, too.
During Sunday’s game at Fenway Park between the Boston Red Sox and the Houston Astros, a fan in the stands by the name of Serah Linn was proposed to by her boyfriend Doug. Unfortunately for the couple and everyone in attendance who had to witness the awkward moment, the pair did not appear to be on the same page.
A Boston Red Sox fan proposed to his girlfriend on the Fenway Park jumbotron only for her to respond “I don’t know”
Video shared to social media by Linda Pizzuti, the wife of Fenway Sports Group owner John Henry, shows Doug launching the proposal on the Fenway Park scoreboard only for Linn to reply “I don’t know.”
The clip, which has already racked up over a million views on social media, shows her visibly hesitant — with debate raging in the replies over whether she said “I don’t know” or eventually came around to a yes. The stadium congratulations graphic remaining on screen throughout the awkward pause only added insult to injury.

The 2026 Red Sox set a franchise record for most losses through April, finishing the month 12-19 and last in the AL East, making it one of the worst starts in the storied franchise’s history.
WorldSeries-winning manager Alex Cora was fired on April 25 after a 10-17 start, leading to Chad Tracy being named interim manager. The team has struggled in every area of the game — pitching, hitting, defense, and baserunning — with Brayan Bello posting a 9.12 ERA and key injuries piling up throughout the rotation.
