The Miami Heat put up a valiant effort through the NBA Playoffs, but fell short in the Finals after losing to the Denver Nuggets.

It sounds like the organization believes they’re a superstar talent away from being a true champion. For that reason, they may be zeroing in on one player.

According to Sports Illustrated, “the Heat are reportedly looking to add some serious talent to their roster in the form of three-time All-Star shooting guard Bradley Beal.”

As of right now, the Washington Wizards have not openly admitted that Bradley Beal is available via trade.

However, Sports Illustrated also reports that “Beal and the Washington front office are said to have a mutual understanding about the star guard’s future with the organization, as the team could undergo a rebuild.”

Trading Beal might be difficult, as he has a no-trade clause in his contract. But, that just means he’d be dealt to a true contender if it comes down to it.

Even so, it sounds like the ball is in the Wizards’ court. Like Damian Lillard, Beal is incredibly loyal to his team. So, Washington must decide if they want to enter a full rebuild or try to acquire another star to aid Bradley Beal.

As for the Heat, they’re keeping their options open, as another superstar player would greatly benefit their chances next season.

The Wizards hired Michael Winger as President of Monumental Basketball, “him the overseer on all aspects of operation for the Wizards, the WNBA’s Mystics and the G-League’s Capital City Go-Go,” per SI.

With that in mind, with a new leader in the front office, Washington may finally trade away Bradley Beal.

If that’s the case, the Heat are seemingly interested in making a deal happen.
