Thursday night’s battle between the Rams and Seahawks was filled with big-time plays. The wildest of course being the Tyler Lockett touchdown snag late in the first quarter, but Brandin Cooks also pulled off an impressive catch, although it came at a cost.

Cooks went up and made a play over Shaquill Griffin early on in the fourth quarter and as he came down he slammed his head to the turf and appeared to get knocked out for a few seconds following the blow.

Cooks’ helmet hit the turf pretty hard on its own, but then you add the weight of Griffin slamming on top of him and it’s a pretty scary sequence. He laid there motionless for a couple of seconds while teammates immediately ran to his side to check-in on the speedster.

The game cut to a commercial as Cooks was being looked at by the team’s medical staff, but he was able to walk off the field on his own power. Los Angeles later tweeted that he was being evaluated for a concussion. The 29-yard catch was his only reception of the game.

Cooks suffered Grade 1 concussions previously, with one coming in December of 2015 and the latest occurring during the second quarter of last year’s Super Bowl loss to the Patriots.

The 26-year-old has 20 catches and one touchdown through five games this season. His Rams fell to the Seahawks Thursday night by a count of 30-29.
