Brandon Aubrey is likely the best kicker in the NFL these days. The Dallas Cowboy is pretty much automatic from anywhere on the field, including from well past 50 yards.

But, he finally missed his first field goal of his career from over 50 yards late in the Thursday Night Football Game between the Giants and Cowboys. And, it greatly impacted bettors.

Aubrey had been putting on an absolute show on Thursday night, including this long field goal earlier in the game.

That kicked looked good from at least 65. For perspective, the NFL record is 66 yards by Justin Tucker in 2021.

That kick made the former soccer player a remarkable 16-16 on field goals from over 50 yards to start his career. It wasn’t that long ago where 50-yard field goals were pretty impressive. Now, players like Aubrey are making them look incredibly routine.

With less than a minute left and the Cowboys up 20-15, Aubrey faced a 51-yard field goal. Not only would it have put the Cowboys up 23-15, but it would’ve covered the spread that favored Dallas by 5.5 points.

Surely, Aubrey knocked it through, right? Wrong.

First off, he literally hit a 51-yard field goal like a high school kicker hits an extra point. The 29-year-old former Notre Dame soccer star just pushed that one off to the right. Naturally, that was the one that mattered most to bettors.

Sorry, Cowboys bettors. Brandon Aubrey let you down.
