Buzz Williams is the sweatiest man in college basketball. The head coach has gone viral on multiple occasions due to an inability to control his perspiration.

Help may be on the way as he moves into a new role. His future employer already has an NIL partnership in place with a local dry-cleaning service.

Williams is often seen on the sidelines donning a full three-piece suit. In most instances, the jacket is quick to go only to reveal a drenched vest and shirt.

In seasons past, Williams made headlines for making in-game outfit changes while toting his sweat towel around on the bench. At Virginia Tech, he was forced to toss on a Hokies t-shirt for the second half of a matchup with Louisville.

He did the same in his first year with the Aggies in 2020. Buzz Williams simply cannot stop sweating!

College basketball fans have taken note of the sweatiness, with some going as far as to mock the head coach on the court. Williams has brushed off the hate. He doesn’t see the big deal!

“It’s the silliest thing ever,” he said at the NCAA Tournament in 2017. “When you get your car fixed, does the mechanic sweat? The guy that builds your house, the carpenter, I think he sweats… I know it’s funny and I know I’m not the best-looking guy in the world, but I’m just working real hard… It’s beyond silly.”

He may be in luck at his next stop. His school already has a close relationship with a notable dry-cleaning company.

Buzz Williams is headed to Maryland.

Williams accepted the head coaching role this week. He was officially introduced on Tuesday. He will lead the Terrapins in 2025-26.

The move comes after six seasons in College Station with Texas A&M. With the Aggies, he led the program to three NCAA Tournaments. That came after making a trio of Big Dances with Virginia Tech and four more with Marquette.

Williams has been successful everywhere he’s been. His players love him. Despite the move to a new school, many members of his current team congratulated him on social media.

Now, the attention turns to the Terps. Maryland is fresh off a Sweet 16 run. Head coach Kevin Willard bailed for Villanova soon after the season ended.

Buzz Williams will look to build upon that success, though he’ll have to hit the recruiting trail hard following attrition on the Terrapins’ roster. Willard’s exit was followed by a mass exodus to the transfer portal.

NIL will play a major part in those recruiting efforts. One existing partnership might benefit Williams, too!

ZIPS Dry Cleaning joined forces with Maryland last September.

ZIPS Cleaners announced today that it has signed an agreement with One Maryland Collective, the Name, Image, Likeness (NIL) arm serving student-athletes at the University of Maryland, to provide and promote a subscription Wash N Fold laundry service for students, branded as “Terrapin Wash.” As part of the agreement, ZIPS of College Park will provide free pickup and delivery twice a week to four different University of Maryland campus locations. Students will also be able to add dry cleaning and comforter cleaning to the semester-based subscription services.

As part of the agreement, One Maryland Collective will receive revenues based on the subscription sales, which in turn will support University of Maryland student-athletes. The initiative empowers student athletes to thrive both on and off the field and engage more actively in their communities.

Students can join a subscription program for Wash N Fold laundry service, including free pickup and delivery to and from campus. Dry cleaning and comforter cleaning services can be included for an additional fee. Revenues from those subscription sales are then used to support Maryland NIL. Williams might push to have that partnership include the coaching staff, too.

ZIPS Cleaners is supporting the Terrapins on the court with its NIL program. Their head coach might return the favor as a frequent flyer with the service, if his past problems with perspiration are any indication. It’s a win-win!

The company won’t be able to alleviate Buzz Williams’ sweatiness. It will be able to clean up after the fact. We’ll see if the head coach takes advantage.
