Randy Quaid (above) does not think that Anne Hathaway is sexy
Anne Hathaway’s 2026 sees the Academy Award-winning actress star in five movies, including the billion-dollar-grossing and likely Best Picture-winning The Odyssey. Hollywood flameout Randy Quaid, however, doesn’t think she’s good enough for the Days of Thunder sequel.
Randy Quaid, who played racing team owner Tim Daland in the original 1990 film Days of Thunder, took to social media to criticize the casting of Oscar winner Anne Hathaway opposite Tom Cruise in the 2028 sequel/reboot.

According to Quaid, Hathaway should not have been cast, calling her a “leftist, woke, horrible choice” for a NASCAR audience he characterized as MAGA, and pushing for Nicole Kidman to reprise her role as Dr. Claire Lewicki instead. Quaid also added that Hathaway “isn’t sexy.”
“We need Nicole back. Don’t be a p—-, @TomCruise. You need the original girl. It’s not personal; it’s filmmaking. Anne isn’t sexy, because and if you haven’t noticed, she’s pregnant,” Quaid tweeted.
“If I were in control of production, a real sequel worth watching for Days of Thunder would be seeing Tom and Nicole together on screen again. We don’t need a new girl; we need a new race car! Anne Hathaway is a leftist, woke, horrible choice for Days of Thunder NASCAR audience who are MAGA. The sexy older chick for Tom in this film needs to be Nicole.”

Quaid continued his moaning into the week, claiming that late Days of Thunder director Tony Scott would have never cast Hathaway.
“Tony Scott, whose style I loved — I also loved working with him — would never cast Anne in a million years. Tony was all about making well-made films with great actors who had sex appeal. A high-octane MAGA woman was Tony’s thing. He could never get what he wanted for DAYS OF THUNDER out of woke lefty schlump Anne; and trying to cut around her would be hell for everyone.”

Days of Thunder 2 will be directed by Jonathan Levine, produced by Cruise and Jerry Bruckheimer, and is set for an IMAX release on June 2, 2028. In the video announcing the project, Hathaway said that production will begin after she recovers from the birth of her newest child, whom she is currently pregnant with.
