The Milwaukee Brewers are headed back to the World Series for the just the second time in the organization’s 58-year history. Their fans are willing to do (or sell) whatever it takes to get tickets.

All kinds of crazy offers are available for the taking on various Facebook groups.

If you are willing to miss out on Games 1 and/or 2 of the MLB championship, you could end up with a boat! Or a trip to Europe!

The Milwaukee Brewers will play in the World Series.

The Major League Baseball franchise currently known as the Milwaukee Brewers actually began as the Seattle Pilots in 1969. The expansion team went bankrupt almost immediately. An investment group led by Bud Selig purchased the team for $10.8 million just six days before Opening Day of the 1970 season. It officially became the Brewers and moved to Milwaukee on April 1, 1970.

They have never won a World Series. In fact, they have only played in the World Series one time.

The Brewers won three-straight games to come back from an 0-2 deficit to defeat the California Angels in the American League Championship Series in 1982. They went on to lose to the St. Louis Cardinals in a seven-game World Series.

Milwaukee later moved to the National League in 1998. Since then, it has made the playoffs 10 times, made the NLDS six times and advanced to the NLCS four times. It lost to St. Louis in 2011, and to Los Angeles in 2018 and 2025. This year was different.

The Dodgers were a heavy favorite to win the World Series for the third season in a row but they got swept 4-0 in the Championship Series. Milwaukee slammed the door shut on Thursday night to win their first National League pennant and advance to the World Series for just the second time ever.

As you could imagine, the fanbase is fired up. They are chomping at the bit to watch their team win its first Commissioner’s Trophy.

Tickets are not cheap!

Milwaukee opened its pre-sale window for tickets to the World Series at American Family Field on Thursday. It started at 10:00 a.m. for Wisconsin residents only. Tickets went on sale to the general public four hours later.

The Brewers will host Games 1 and 2. They will also host Games 6 and 7 if necessary.

“Demand for postseason tickets has been extraordinarily high, and the inventory of seats for individual purchase for possible World Series games at American Family Field will be extremely limited,” Brewers president of business operations Rick Schlesinger said in a statement.

As of this writing, the cheapest single ticket listed on SeatGeek for Game 1 is listed at $2,300. The cheapest single ticket for Game 2 is listed at $2,200. Prices might drop in the coming days but probably not by much. It looks like it will end up costing no less than $1,000 (on the low end) to watch the Brewers play in the World Series in Milwaukee on the resale market.

With that in mind, Brewers fans are willing to make sacrifices. They are willing to do or sell whatever it takes to be in the building.

One such fan listed his 20-foot pontoon boat on Facebook Marketplace for $3,000. He is willing to trade the boat for World Series tickets. Another fan offered “a one-way business class flight to/from Europe subject to availability per ticket up to 4 per game” and “would offer routings/space and book before ticket transfer.” His examples include:

  • Iberia: O’Hare — Madrid
  • Aer Lingus: O’Hare — Dublin
  • Finnair: O’Hare — Helsinki
  • Air France: O’Hare — Paris
  • KLM: O’Hare — Amsterdam
  • Lufthansa: O’Hare — Munich
  • Lufthansa: O’Hare — Frankfurt

You would win the trade, he says.

“Cheapest one way business class flights to Europe average $2,000-3,500 right now, so you will easily be on the winning end of the deal.”

I am sure these offers will only get weirder and bigger as first pitch nears closer. If you have Brewers World Series tickets that you are willing to sell, be sure to check the Facebook ticket exchange groups first! Would you rather cash or a pontoon boat?
