Some not-so-great news for the Browns just before their big showdown with the Ravens, tight end David Njoku got added on the injury report.

Apparently, Njoku got a bit too close to the firepit in his backyard and ended up with burns on his face and arm. Ouch.

According to NFL Insider Tom Pelissero, Njoku sustained the injury while trying to light the firepit in his backyard. But he indicated that the tight end is doing okay.

David’s agent, Malki Kawa, reassured everyone on Twitter, saying, “Thank you everyone for reaching out, but David Njoku is ok, thank God.”

But Njoku isn’t the only one with a question mark hanging over his head. Quarterback Deshaun Watson is also listed as questionable for the game due to a shoulder injury. Not ideal.

Njoku, the Browns’ 2017 first-round pick, has a pretty decent season going with 10 catches for 92 yards.

Earlier this year, the Browns gave him a nice contract extension with a 4-year, $56.75 million deal. He’s racked up 216 career catches, for 2,474 yards, and 19 scores so far.

Let’s hope Njoku is truly okay and on the road to recovery. At first, it did sound like a bit of a scare.
