Bryce Harper stunned Major League Baseball fans Tuesday night when he showed up for the Phillies’ game having shaved his trademark beard.
After going hitless so far this month, 0 for his last 16 with five strikeouts, it appears that Harper perhaps thought a change was in order for Tuesday’s game versus the San Diego Padres.
Much like when Conor McGregor shaved his beard last year, a whiskerless Bryce Harper was quite a jarring look.

He looks soooooo good

The 30-year-old two-time Most Valuable Player has thus far been mum on why he shaved his beard.
That, however, hasn’t stopped fans on the internet from wildly speculating.
Ah, clearly must be trying to force a trade to the Yankees

“He’s growing it for postseason,” someone else suggested.

This isn’t the first time fans have reacted wildly to BHarp shaving his beard mid-season.
So this all but confirms Bryce Harper will be playing center field for the Yankees next year, right? Right?? #PinstripePride pic.twitter.com/kj5pxISmer

Harper, who had been on a nine-game hitting streak prior to his slump, went 0-for-3 with a walk after shaving the beard as the Phillies lost the Padres 8 to 0.
Looks like he’s going to need a better slump buster.
