The world was rocked on Monday Night after Damar Hamlin collapsed on the field early in the game between the Buffalo Bills and Cincinnati Bengals.

After being rushed to the hospital, many waited for an update that eventually came overnight.

At just shy of 2:00 A.M. the Bills provided an update on the situation. They claim that Damar Hamlin “suffered a cardiac arrest following a hit.” The medical teams were able to restore his heartbeat on the field and he was taken to “UC Medical Center for further testing and treatment. He is currently sedated and listed in critical condition.” As of this posting, this is the latest information released regarding Hamlin.

Hamlin is a second-year safety for Buffalo who earned a starting role for the defense. However, he’s much more than just a football player. The Bills’ safety has a GoFundMe directed towards generating money to give toys to kids. Since his scary injury on the field, his toy drive has surpassed the $3.5 million mark. The original goal was $2,500.
