On Tuesday morning, the Buffalo Bills announced that they are firing their two-year head coach Rex Ryan and his brother Rob, an assistant who joined the team at the beginning of this season.
Bills owner Terry Pegula said in a statement Tuesday:
“I spoke with Rex earlier today and we mutally agreed that the time to part ways is now. These decisions are never easy. I want to take this opportunity to thank Rex for all his efforts and wish him all the best moving forward.
“Kim and I and our entire Bills organization share in the same disappointment and frustration as our fans, but we remain committed to our goal of bringing a championship to Western New York.
“Anthony Lynn will serve as our interim head coach to lead us through the Jets game.”

Rex is currently 7-8 season this season and 8-8 last year, for a cumulative losing record of 15-16 with the Bills. Ryan is now 61-66 as a head coach over eight seasons. As for what prompted the firing, aside from losing, Bills players have expressed that Ryan was losing control of the team.
Unlike Rex's departure from the Jets, Bills players tell me Rex/Rob lost defensive side of the locker room: “Too many cooks in the kitchen."

At this stage, it’s unclear whether a team will take a chance on Rex next year, but hopefully he gets picked up by someone, for pure entertainment value.
