Buffalo Bills Naming Random NBA Players For Three Minutes Is The Pinnacle Of Guys Being Dudes

Virtually every professional sports team has employees who are tasked with filming lighthearted videos for social media designed to give fans some insight into the personalities of their players, and the Buffalo Bills knocked a new one out of the park by having members of the team name random guys who played in the NBA.

If you’ve spent enough time on Twitter, you’ve probably come across a viral musing that was posted in 2021 that accurately observed “Dudes can literally just sit around and name old sports players and just have the best time.”

I’m eagerly awaiting the psychological study that manages to get to the bottom of that particular phenomenon, so while I can’t tell you exactly why it’s so appealing, there’s something strangely satisfying about chilling with your buddies and simply Remembering Some Guys.

The Buffalo Bills recently got the chance to do exactly that at practice courtesy of the social media manager who set up a camera along with a prompt that instructed them to name random NBA players—a decision that led to the creation of a three-minute clip that has absolutely no business being as entertaining as it is.

Keon Coleman—the first-year wide receiver who firmly established himself as the most entertaining rookies in the NFL over the course of the postseason—kicked things off with Shabazz Napier before rattling off a ton of others while going bar-for-bar with K. J. Hamler and Greg Rousseau as other guys on the team popped in with their contributions.

There were some participants who didn’t really understand the assignment (Rasul Douglas definitely broke the unwritten rule to not name well-known NBA players by opting for Dirk Nowitzki while Richard Gouraige was rightfully admonished for trying to get away with Ray Allen), but for the large part, this was some incredibly solid Guy Remembering.

Here’s to hoping the Bills treat us to a follow-up at some point.
