Texas high school football player Byron Washington is going viral after his Desoto team’s state championship win. The offensive lineman is an absolute force on the front five, opening up massive holes for ball carriers in the backfield.

Maybe the biggest player in the sport, Washington stands 6-8 and tips the scales at 380 pounds! He’s landed Division I interest due to that enormous presence and on-field production.

Washington is a specimen that catches your eye as soon as he steps off the bus. Already boasting NFL level size, he’s still a junior with one more high school season to play.

The blocker towers over his opponents at the line of scrimmage, and that massive frame allows him to bully defenders in the run game. You’ll find pancake after pancake when you simply google his name, with many of those lining up against him garnering major college interest, too.

And when he’s not opening up rushing lanes for his tailback, he’s single handedly carrying them into the endzone. It’s just not fair!

The big man has a laundry list of high-level offers, but according to his 24/7 recruiting profile, Oregon, Texas, and TCU seem to be the frontrunners to land his commitment.

The site’s player rankings list him as the 685th-best prospect in the 2025 class, regardless of position. He’s also considered a top 60 offensive tackle recruit with three-star status.

Viewers saw exactly why those programs were drawn to Byron Washington in the Texas 6A II State Championship.

Facing Summer Creek, an undefeated DeSoto team made light work of their foe in the title game. A 74-14 win landed the Eagles a trophy, their second straight championship, but it was the big fella up front making the postgame headlines.

Facing defenders that in some cases stand 6-3 and weigh 200+ pounds, he made his opposition look like Pee Wee players.

Washington has now found viral fame due to both his size and his team’s on-field dominance. He’ll have one more season to continue building his recruiting resume, but he’s already grabbed the attention of the football world.
