There’s a part of us, all of us, that will never grow up. It’s the part of us that still finds the sound of a fart funny, or can’t help but say “Nice” whenever the number 69 (nice) shows up in any context. I’ve got it, you’ve got it, and WNBA star Caitlin Clark has got it.
During their press conference following the Indiana Fever’s 84-80 victory over the Connecticut Sun on Wednesday, August 28, Caitlin Clark was fielding questions from the media alongside teammates Lexie Hull and Kelsey Mitchell.
While Hull was answering a question from a report, she said “Get my hands on as many balls as I could,” leading to both Clark and Mitchell breaking into laughter.
I lost it in the presser tonight you guys this was too much 😭😭😭😭

The Fever’s win over the Sun is quite impressive considering that Connecticut is just one of three teams in the WNBA with more than 20 wins (as of August 29). The win improved the Fever’s record to 15-16, putting them just one game from reaching the .500 mark as the WNBA nears its end. At this time, the Fever are in 7th place in the WNBA’s standings, which would qualify them for the playoffs.
In the win over the Sun, Clark continued to impress as the presumptive Rookie of the Year posted 19 points, 5 assists, and 5 rebounds. The all-time NCAA leading scorer also made history in the game against the Sun as she set the WNBA record for the most three-pointers made (86) by a rookie in a season, breaking the tally previously set by the Atlanta Dream’s Rhyne Howard in 2022.
“We’re night and day different,” Clark said of the team’s growth, as the Fever’s first game of the season was against the Sun.
“And that’s what you’re going to see with a young group. Obviously, we’re young. We have some older players, but a lot of the people that we have in our lineup are younger, so just figuring each other out and learning, I think, has got us a long way.”
Next up for Clark and the Fever is a matchup against Angel Reese and the Chicago Sky on Friday, August 30 at 7:30 p.m. EST.
