Indiana Fever head coach revealed Caitlin Clark’s behind-the-scenes reaction to getting snubbed by the US Olympic team.
On Saturday, it was revealed that Clark was left off the team partly because some members of the team worried that they would receive backlash if Clark didn’t receive playing time.
While speaking to the media, Clark kept things classy and talked about being excited to watch the US Olympic team this summer.
Her coach, Christie Sides, however, tells a different story.
According to Sides, Clark told her that “they woke up a monster” by leaving her off the roster.

Sides thought Clark’s comment was “pretty scary” for the league, considering that she’s already playing at an All-Star level.
“That’s pretty scary right? She’s one of the most competitive people I know but she’s a worker and that’s what she’s going to do, this gave the opportunity to do more work”
#IndianaFever HC Christie Sides said they were on the bus when Caitlin Clark found out she didn’t make Team USA. Clark then told her, “Hey coach, they woke a monster.”
I asked Sides how much more “monster” there is to wake up.
