USC quarterback Caleb Williams watched Monday’s College Football Playoff game between Alabama and Michigan from his couch. The Trojans failed to win more than seven regular season games in the 2022 Heisman Trophy winner’s senior season. They played in the Holiday Bowl.

Williams, who is expected to be drafted either No. 1 or No. 2 in the upcoming NFL Draft, chose to opt out of the unimportant postseason game. His college football career ended with a loss to UCLA.

John Jackson, one of Williams’ teammates and close friends, was at the downtown Los Angeles apartment alongside his former signal-caller on New Year’s Day. Meanwhile, the Crimson Tide and the Wolverines were playing in the Rose Bowl just up the 110.

He decided to have a laugh at Williams’ expense. To do so, Jackson used a viral sound on TikTok.

It asks “you wish that was you, huh?!” with a chuckle.

Jackson took that audio and turned it back on Williams. He filmed the future top-five pick watching the semifinal game from his couch and told him to look over at the camera. And then the audio did its thing.

Cold-blooded! Jackson didn’t have to do Caleb Williams dirty like that, but it made for tremendous content.

Fortunately, at this point in the year, USC’s legendary quarterback is over the initial sadness and focused on getting a bag on the next level. He’s also known to have a pretty good sense of humor when it comes to his friends.

There might be some initial saltiness when the TikTok inevitably goes viral, but what’s done is done. And the video isn’t wrong. Williams absolutely wishes that he was playing in the College Football Playoff instead of watching at home. So does Jackson, even if he was the one having a laugh at his buddy’s expense.
