Cam Coleman Highlight Reel Catch Raises Major Concerns About Superstar Texas QB Arch Manning

The Texas Longhorns made one of the biggest splashes in the college football transfer portal this offseason when they added former Auburn star wide receiver Cam Coleman.

Coleman, the No. 1-ranked receiver in the On3 Transfer Portal Rankings and the No. 2-ranked overall player, caught 93 passes for 1,406 yards and 13 touchdowns for the Tigers.

Now, he’ll be hauling in passes for the Longhorns and superstar quarterback Arch Manning, who swapped out his roommate and former top target, Parker Livingstone, to bring in Coleman.

Coleman is already making ridiculous catches for the ‘Horns in practice. However, in doing so he’s also raising some uncomfortable questions about Manning.

The Longhorns posted a video of Coleman making a ridiculous one-handed catch across their various social media channels on Saturday.

However, Coleman only had to reach back and make the difficult catch because it appears that the pass was thrown well behind him and far too high.

Unless, for some reason, Coleman was working with the second team, then it was presumably Manning that made the throw, which had college football fans asking questions.

Some fans, perhaps out of sheer optimism, posited that the wobbly ball had been tipped at the line of scrimmage. However, as others pointed out, Texas appears to have intentionally edited out the beginning of the play. If the ball had been tipped, why would they not just show that?

“Good god, who threw that?” Blain Crain of On3 asked.

“Did Arch kick that thing to him? Why was it so bad?” another fan stated.

Ultimately, one rep in preseason practice really doesn’t mean much so long as it’s not a larger trend. But given Manning’s struggles with inconsistent accuracy a year ago, it’s not exactly an encouraging sign for Longhorns fans.
