Canelo Alvarez is still the king of boxing.

ESPN MX is reporting that Alvarez has signed a three-fight deal with Al Haymon’s Premier Boxing Champions that will pay him over $100 million.

The first fight of Canelo’s new deal will come against Jermall Charlo on September 16.

Canelo Alvarez, boxing’s top star, will defend his undisputed super middleweight championship against Jermall Charlo in September, likely Sept. 16 on Mexican Independence Day weekend, sources told ESPN on Thursday.

The Mexican fighter’s bout against Charlo, the WBC middleweight titleholder, is expected to be a Showtime PPV.

The network declined comment. Alvarez announced on Instagram a “done deal” for September along with the PBC logo, but he didn’t name an opponent or specify that the deal was for multiple fights.

PBC’s current stable includes David Benavidez, who has been calling for a fight against Canelo for years.

It’ll be interesting to see if Benavidez gets a shot at Canelo in the next year.
