Former Ohio State quarterback Cardale Jones has commented on the nasty graduation rumors surrounding University of Georgia passer Stetson Bennett. Those rumors claim that Bennett has yet to earn his degree from UGA despite spending six years on campus.

Jones, a national championship winning signal caller in his own right, made his opinion of education for athletes known during his stint with the Buckeyes. His then viral quote has now resurfaced.

Jones played for OSU from 2013-2015. As a sophomore, he was forced into action during the Buckeyes’ postseason run. Not only did he help the team win the Big Ten championship over Wisconsin, but he then led the squad on back-to-back wins in the first-ever playoff.

The result was the Buckeyes’ most recent national championship.

In those three games, Jones completed 46 of his 75 attempts for 742 yards and five scores. While he’s remembered for winning that championship, Jones is also famous for saying, “We ain’t come to play SCHOOL, classes are POINTLESS.”

Jones would wind up getting his degree from Ohio State in 2017, the year that Stetson Bennett stepped foot on campus at UGA.

Throughout his incredible career, Bennett went from walk-on, to JUCO transfer, to starter, to two-time national champion. One thing he may or may not have achieved, though, was his degree.

Rumors are now circulating that Stetson Bennett did not graduate from Georgia despite being their a half-dozen years. Those rumors began due to his omission from the school’s 2023 spring commencement program.

He was also absent from a 2022 Georgia football graduates post on social media during the winter semester.

Many have denied the rumor, saying that Bennett did, in fact, earn his degree in 2022. The quarterback nor the school have responded to the reports.

Tommy Boy and Van Wilder jokes have since flooded the internet following these rumors. Cardale Jones got in on the fun over the weekend, posting his response to the odd situation.

Jones reposted the Bennett report alongside a caption that read, “Buddy definitely wasn’t playing school!”

If the rumors are true, it’s actually quite impressive.
