This offseason seems to have more teams with question marks at quarterback than any other in recent memory. The Steelers, Broncos, Buccaneers, Packers, Commanders, Colts, Raiders, Saints, Texans, and Panthers all look like teams who could possibly see a change at QB in the coming months.

Today, we got a report that sheds some light on who the Carolina Panthers could be pursuing to become their next quarterback. According to a report from CBS Sports’ Jason La Canfora, the Panthers have their sights set on Kenny Pickett with the 6th pick in the NFL draft.

La Canfora spoke to scouts at the Senior Bowl and they seem pretty sure that Pickett will be a Panther.

“I don’t think he makes it past the Panthers. Their owner (David Tepper) is a huge Pitt booster. He hasn’t invested draft capital in a quarterback yet. He has to know the Steelers like him (Tepper is a former minority investor in the Steelers). I think that’s a fit.”

It doesn’t come as much of a surprise that Kenny Pickett is being looked at as a top draft pick. He was viewed as one of the top QB prospects for much of this season and now he has helped his stick at the Senior Bowl.

The scouts at the Senior Bowl have had rave reviews about him this week.

“Pickett was the best of the bunch. I’m not sure it was all that close. He had a good week. There is a lot to like about him.”

As it stands, the only quarterbacks under contract with the Panthers for next season are Sam Darnold and PJ Walker. It’s about as bad of a situation as there is in the NFL right now, so it makes a ton of sense for them to grab a quarterback with their top pick.

It looks like we might already know who the next Panthers QB will be.
