Carson Beck will play his final year of college football at Miami. The former Georgia quarterback signed a massive NIL deal with the Hurricanes at the beginning of January and arrived to campus not long thereafter to continue his rehab efforts for a UCL injury suffered during the SEC Championship.
It appears as though he is getting along just fine with his new teammates despite what his ex-girlfriend thinks of him and his relationships.
Beck started dating Hanna Cavinder around this time last year. They went official on Instagram on the 4th of July. The latter claims that she did not have any role in the former’s decision to forgo the NFL Draft and play for Miami, which seemed implausible at the time, but their recent split might prove that to be true. Cavinder broke up with Beck after a trip to Nashville in the middle of March.
A myriad of different allegations have since come to light. Many of the accusations cast Beck as a cheater, which largely stem from a leaked snapchat message to a woman that was not his girlfriend.
However, Cavinder recently said that the unfaithful behavior of Beck was not the reason for their split. She and her twin sister recently offered a scathing account of his character while chatting with Kai Trump at UFC 314. They said that “nobody” likes him.
That is obviously one single (really, double) account from one (really, two) specific people. Everybody has a different truth. This specific conversation had more to do with off-the-field behavior than on.
With that being said, a recent video from the Hurricanes’ spring game appears to disprove some of the disparaging comments made about Carson Beck. It certainly appears as though he likes his new teammates and that his new teammates like him.
I understand the nuance between professional and personal relationships. This video shows more of the former than the latter. Players have to tolerate their quarterback on the field whether they like him or not. Beck has a history of shenanigans. I get it.
And yet, I find it hard to believe that someone who is so egocentric would be so quick to celebrate his teammates while he himself is not playing. And I find it hard that his teammates would be so quick to join in on the celebration if he is in fact so disliked.
There are three sides to this breakup: his, hers and the truth. The truth usually falls somewhere in the middle.
